Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Redefined Spines LLC ("we," "us") collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what we need to run the product and learn whether to build it — and nothing else. We do not sell your data, and there is no third-party advertising tracking on this site.

1. What we collect

Email address — if you join the early-access or founding-reader list. Used to contact you about the product. That's its only use.
Founding-reader answers — if you complete our short questionnaire: your answers, your reservation interest, and how you found us (the referral/campaign parameters in your link). Used to decide what to build and for whom.
Account & library data — if you create an account in the web app: your email, and the reading library you build (titles, authors, reading status, spine colors, display settings). Used to sync your shelf across your devices and, only if you enable it, to share your "currently reading" with people you choose.
Basic usage events — anonymous-by-default product events (for example "signup form used", page context, and a random session identifier). Used to see what works. We do not use third-party analytics services, ad pixels, or fingerprinting.
Payment information — we never see or store card numbers. If and when refundable reservation holds open, payment is processed by Stripe, whose own privacy policy applies.

2. What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
We don't run third-party ad trackers on this site.
We don't read your reading library for any purpose other than showing it to you (and to people you explicitly share with).

3. Where your data lives

Data is stored with our infrastructure providers: Supabase (database, authentication) and Netlify (hosting, serverless functions), both operating secured cloud infrastructure. Access to production data is restricted to the founder.

4. Cookies & local storage

The web app uses browser local storage to keep your library available offline and to keep you signed in. The marketing site uses session storage to remember how you arrived (referral parameters). We do not set third-party advertising cookies.

5. Sharing

We share data only with the infrastructure providers above (as processors), with Stripe for payment processing if you place a hold, or if required by law. If the company is ever acquired or wound down, the interest list would be deleted rather than sold unless you opt in to transfer.

6. Your choices & rights

Unsubscribe from emails at any time — every email includes a way out, or just reply and ask.
Delete your account and library, or your interest-list entry, by emailing us — we'll confirm within 30 days.
Access/export — ask and we'll send what we hold about you.
California and EU/UK residents may have additional statutory rights (access, deletion, portability, non-discrimination); email us to exercise them.

7. Children

The Services aren't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child provided us data, email us and we'll delete it.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and notify account holders by email.
